Appointment of Janasadharan Ticket Booking  Sewak (JTBS) at important Stations over Howrah Division and Kolkata area.

Applications are invited in prescribed format for appointment of Janasadharan Ticket Booking Sewaks(JTBS) at important stations over Howrah Division and Kolkata area for issuing Computerized unreserved tickets  through computerized unreserved ticketing system. Interested persons fulfilling the stipulated conditions may apply in the format given below in sealed cover on any working day from 20.5.08 at 10.00 hrs. to 18.00 hrs. in the Office of Sr. Divisional Commercial Manager, Eastern Railway, Howrah, Yatri Niwas Building, 4^th floor, Howrah.  Applications to be dropped in the sealed box kept in the above mentioned Office on and  before 14.00 hours of 19.06.08. The box containing the received applications will be opened on 19.06.08 at 15.00 hours in presence of the applicants or their representatives.. In case the date of opening of applications is declared a holiday or other closed day, for unforeseen reason, the applications will be opened on the next working day at the same time and venue.
 

The name of stations /locations and the category of allottees for JTBS is furnished below.
 

ABBREVIATION :
 

SC = Scheduled Caste, ST= Scheduled Tribe,
OBC =  Other Backward Classes, FF = Freedom Fighter.
PH =  Physically handicapped, Genl.= General.
Minority = Muslim, Christian, Sikh,  Buddhist,  and Parsee.
 

The details terms and conditions and others  shall be available on any working day at the office of Sr. Divisional  Commercial Manager Eastern Railway, Howrah.
 

ELIGIBILITY/QUALIFICATION :
 

1.

Applicant should not be under 18 years of age and at least Madhyamik Pass or equivalent. Candidates with less than Madhyamik Pass may also apply.
 

2.

Applicant should be a local resident of the area served by the station. As a residential proof, applicant should enclose a certified copy of Voter identity card or Ration Card etc.
 

3.

Applicant should submit a character certificate from Mayor/Chairman/Panchyat Pradhan/District Magistrate/Addl. District Magistrate or a Magistrate that he/she bears a good moral character and is free from criminal case pending against him/her.
 

4.

The premises for use of unreserved tickets should have easy accessibility to the public.
 

5.

Applicant with telephone connection in his /her premises will be preferred.
 

6.

The applicant should be prepared to pay on selection Rs.15,000/- as a refundable security deposit interest free and Rs.40,000/- as a Bank guarantee to the Railways drawn in favour of  FA&CAO, Eastern Railway, Kolkata.  On completion/termination of contract pending dues will be adjusted from the Security deposit and balance refunded to JTBS.
 

7.

An individual may apply for more than one location.

PROCEDURE :
 

1.

JTBS will be given UTS Computer Terminals for which all costs initial and recurring including equipments and channels will be borne by him/her. The approximate costs of equipments will be around Rs.50,000/-. Besides, costs of hiring channel will also be borne by him/her.
 

2.

JTBS will be supplied UTS Ticket Rolls at serving station. He/she will be responsible for their safe custody. In case of any loss on this account, necessary debit will be raised against him/her as per extant instructions.
 

3.

JTBS will issue cash ticket only and is not authorized to cancel and grant refund on tickets.
 

4.

JTBS will make advance deposit and ticket can be issued by him/her till the amount is against this deposit is available. There is no upper financial limit for issue of tickets.
 

5.

JTBS will not issue tickets from the station premises.
 

6.

JTBS may collect Re.1/- ( one) per ticket as commission from the passengers.
 

7.

JTBS will submit account of sale to the serving station on daily basis along with value of tickets.
 

DURATION OF JTBS :
 

Initial period of contract will be for 2 ( two) years which can be extended yearly on the basis of satisfactory performance for the next 3(three) years.
 

SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION :
 

Application must be in a sealed cover duly filled with the name of serving station and full address of the applicant addressed to Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Eastern Railway, Howrah should be submitted on or before  1400 hours of 19.06.08 in the box kept for the purpose at the Office of Divisional Railway Manager (Commercial), Eastern Railway, Howrah, Rail Yatri Niwas Building, 4^th Floor.
 

Railway  reserves the right to accept/reject  any application/all applications without showing any cause.
